KEMSO offers a stepped warranty policy for its Fuel Pump product line: The basic street version series (such as KHFP-200) enjoys a 24-month or 30,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first), and the professional off-road version (KHFP-450X) is reduced to 12 months or 15,000 kilometers due to harsh working conditions. A 2023 survey by the European Automotive Parts Association (CLEPA) shows that this policy covers 98% of users’ average annual mileage (median 11,200 kilometers), which is 33% longer than the industry average 18-month warranty period.
There are key technical boundaries within the scope of the warranty. The warranty clause clearly stipulates that it should be used in conjunction with a fuel filter with an accuracy of 5μm (such as MANN-FILTER WK940/10); otherwise, the failure of the flow sensor (error > 8%) will be exempted from liability. Tests conducted by the German TUV Sud laboratory have confirmed that when the sulfur content of gasoline is greater than 10ppm, the wear rate of the Fuel Pump impeller without a filter increases by 200%, resulting in an average lifespan shortened from 52,000 kilometers to 18,000 kilometers. After the 2022 monsoon disaster in India, 372 claims for pump body corrosion caused by water pollution were rejected, mainly because users failed to perform monthly drainage (Clause 4.7).
The high-voltage racing model (KHFP-Racing) is subject to special terms. The 100L/h high-pressure pump body suitable for the racetrack is only covered by a 6-month or 5,000-kilometer warranty and requires the titanium alloy impeller to be replaced every 200 hours (costing €190 per time). The operational data of the Porsche Carrera Cup team shows that under continuous operating conditions with engine speed > 8,000rpm, the median actual lifespan of this series of products is 312 hours, and 90% of users can complete three free replacements within the warranty period.
The claim process relies on precise fault diagnosis. Users need to upload the fuel pressure data (idle speed fluctuation < ±0.25bar) through the KEMSO TechCheck App, along with screenshots of ECU fault codes (only fuel system codes such as P0087/P0190 are accepted). Among the 12,560 warranty applications worldwide in 2023, 46.7% of the applications were rejected due to the failure to provide the pressure curve (sampling rate > 100Hz) or the incorrect use of non-ISO 14229 diagnostic instruments.
There are regional differences in warranty value-added services. In the North American market, purchasing the KHFP Pro+ package (with an additional price of $29.9) can be upgraded to a 36-month warranty, but it is required to use KEMSO certified SN grade engine oil (kinematic viscosity 12.1cSt). Eu users participating in the VT-free program can enjoy a 21% reduction in maintenance fees, but they need to provide maintenance records for every 15,000 kilometers (German KBA data: Only 31% of users are compliant).
