President Bush and Africa
I recently read a TIME magazine article that praised President Bush's efforts in Africa. It was so refreshing to read something objective and honest about the president from mainstream media. Bush is truly doing some great pro-life work on that continent, but he's getting little press about it. His policy towards Africa, which is outlined in more detail at www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/africa/, has been successful in helping that suffering continent with democracy, poverty, and saving lives.
It is sad that I've met many people who have such a hatred for Bush despite some of the great work he has done. I understand disagreeing with some of his policies, especially his policy on Iraq. But from what I've observed he seems to be a man of faith who tries to do what is best with the information he has. I judge this on what he has done for the abortion battle, embryonic stem cell research, Africa, and immigration. Even on Iraq I believe his main intent was to protect U.S. citizens from the destructive forces of Al-Qaeda. Surely he didn't go to war just so he could become unpopular.
So this article is to help give Bush credit where credit is due. I hope and pray the next president will continue Bush's pro-life successes.

Thank you Daniel for this article giving Bush some of the credit he so much deserves. I don't think Americans realize what a wonderful man and president George W. Bush is. I personally believe he will one day go down in history as one of our best presidents!
I think the press has been the reason for swaying the public away from Bush's policies. People are very insecure in their beliefs. When they hear about popularity polls going down for Bush and constant anti-war sentiment, they eventually join the crowd. I wonder, has America forgotten why we went to war with Iraq in the first place? If you think back, we had excellent reasons and most everyone agreed. This is the reasons that come to my mind:
1. 911. Terrorists in America? Killing hundreds? This had to stop. (and it did)
2. Saddam Hussein was funding and hiding terrorists groups in Iraq.
3. Saddam Hussein would not allow the U.N. weapons inspector in his country. This was a direct threat against the U.S. and most Americans agreed that he was probably hiding weapons of mass destruction.
4. Saddam Hussein used weapons of mass destruction on his own people (Doesn't this sound like Hitler and the holocaust?)
What else could we do? You cannot reason with these brutal killers, and we couldn't just sit around like "sitting ducks" waiting to be attacked again.
Of course war is not a quick and easy solution. Nobody LIKES war, but it's a fact of life that has been around since the beginning of time. Also, we need to remember that most wars take many, many years until resolved.
Thank God we have a president that follows his convictions and not the popularity polls. Thank God for our president and our military for keeping America safe and free from more terrorists attacks.

Hi: I think President Bush is a very good President, I know in my heart he has tried to protect the United States the best way he can and he is a Christian man. He doesn't support Homosexuality, abortion, and supports the things that need to be supported. I voted for Bush the first and second time and I would do it again if he ran again. May God always bless him and his family.
