Russell Crowe to be Baptized

| | Comments (3)

In an interesting move, Russell Crowe plans to be baptized along with his second son. The article isn't clear on Crowe's faith, but it does quote Crowe as saying, "If I believe it is important to baptize my kids, why not me?"

Pretty interesting. As you know, baptism actually has power and can change your life. So we're praying that Russell Crowe becomes a Saint.

God bless,
Jay

I believe he was quoted in the article describing the chapel as "Byzantine". Wouldn't that place him under the "Eastern" or "Orthodox" faith? I am sure you know what Byzantine means more than I do.

I hope it's all right for me to pop in here with a comment. The "Byzantine" refers only to the architecture of the chapel and was his way of fulfilling rather of a dream his bride had about getting married in Europe. There was a tiny wooden chapel on the farm near Nana Glen, Australia, that Russell's older brother, Terry, had used, but they needed something larger to accomodate the size of the wedding so he had the new "Byzantine" portion added with its dome and 2nd century mosaic floor. The new chapel was blessed by an Anglican bishop and both the wedding ceremony and the baptism of Russell's first born son, Charlie, were conducted by that bishop. The upcoming baptism of both Russell and his second son, Tennyson, will be an
Anglican service, too, and your prayers for the inherent power of the sacrament are greatly coveted. Thank you,
Jo

Unlike some Aussie stars, Russell seems devoted to his wife and sons. It's refreshing to see someone change from a 'hothead' to such a nice guy. Apparently, thanks to his family bringing him closer to God.
