Lutheran Minister becomes Catholic Priest

Leonard Klein was a concerned Lutheran minister. According to this article he:

As a conservative Lutheran, Klein, 60, has not felt [good to be where he is] for a very long time. He was an outspoken critic of what he describes as the liberal direction of his denomination, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and challenged the group on issues of abortion, inclusive language, gay ordination and gay marriage.

Why convert? And most especially, why choose Catholicism?

"The Catholic Church understands that Christian teaching comes through scripture, and that is cared for and applied by the bishops," Klein said. "... A lot of things just aren't up for a vote."

In other words, he followed the Truth home to the Catholic Church. It's an interesting article, since it also points out that Klein is now a married Catholic priest.

God bless - and have a happy, holy Easter!

Rev. Klein hav found the rigth answer to a denomination, that liberalism interpret the Holy Scricture to fit the easiest way fot men.
Roman Catholic Church made mistakes in the past, but always kept the whole thruth since Peter te Rock.
Look what is happening in Episcopalians Church? Ordination of women, gay praticing bishoph, one Anglican priest in Canada bless the marriage of two lesbian deacons, etc. Inferno.

I was raised Roman Catholic, have spent time away from the church for abot 10 years of my adult life and returned to the church about another 10 years. There are things that have always bothered me about Catholic teachings. The most important of which is that I can't see the Pope as legitimate head of the christian church on earth. I know Christ said "Peter you are the rock...." but that just doesn't translate into a succession of Popes. The Bible does not say that Christ or Peter advocated a succession of Popes. As far as I can see that is a jump logic that just doesn't have biblical evidence to support it. I feel like I've been lied to all these years. Since I am considering joining the Missouri Lutheran Church I thought it might be helpful if a Lutheran minister that converted to Catholicim would talk to me specifically about the subject, probably discussion of the early church. If someone out there fits the bill please email me. konafiend@yahoo.com

Gene, like you I spent years in a vibrant and authentic Evangelical Protestant setting before returning to the Roman Catholic Church.

You may find the conversion stories contained in Surprised by Truth helpful as numerous converts spend much time wrestling the issue of Papal succession from a Biblical perspective.

Does my time in an Evangelical Protestant setting mean I fit your bill? Although I have little personal experience with Lutheranism I have spent some time thinking about Sola Fidei, Sola Scriptura, and "total depravity".

In the meantime, I would like to ask you a two questions. Did you know that Luther affirmed the perpetual virginity of Mary and condemned the use of contraceptives? Does the Missouri Lutheran Church currently accept Luther's statements on those two issues?
