Complete List of Saints

I found a great area at Catholic.com today that has the most complete list of saints that I've seen. It includes background information on all of them as well. Take a look when you get a chance - it's especially great for those of us expecting a new child!

God bless,
Jay

Saints. why is it the Catholics pray to saints? there is only one mediator betweeen us and God, and that is Christ Jesus. Once you become a Christian (receiving Jesus as your Lord and Saviour) you are a saint. saint doesnt mean a good person a saint is a believer who follows the teachings of Christ. Saints in heaven cant answer a single prayer, God does. God Bless you.

Stella,
Please see Praying to Saints: Are they Really Listening and Saints: The Best Friends You Could Hope for for an explanation.

Remember, if you ask a friend to pray for you, they are acting as a "sub-mediator" in effect. They don't replace Christ's mediation, but they attempt to mediate to Christ for you. This is the same function the Saints provide. So, if you believe what you wrote above, you can't ask friends to pray for you - and you disagree with the Bible.

God bless,
Jay

Catholics pray to Saints for guidance. Saints are people who are almost like a representation. For example : St. Frances of Assisi-He represents animals, ecology, and merchants.
Saints are there to help us. They can also be considered faith role models.

So why don't you ask your dead grandfather to pray for you also?

Anna, I see nothing wrong with asking a relative to pray for you - even if they have died.

what would heaven be like if our dead brethren cannot love us

is not christian faith that whatever good we have on earth would be perfected in heaven?

i might not think of heaven as sweeet if i cannot just show simple love to my freinds on earth.

Is there any Saint bearing Desmond? If there is, I would like to know the feast day and his life history.
