Good News for Lord of the Rings Fans
The Wall Street Journal yesterday ran an article on New Line's attempts to get "The Hobbit" to theaters. The important quote:
Mr. Jackson and key cast members recently have made noises that they want to take on the cult novel.
Ian McKellen (Gandalf) is especially keen on the project (I think he's an important part of keeping the movies together as one). Currently, the end of 2005 is the earliest Peter Jackson can film it, so we're looking at 2007 as a likely release date.
Let's hope this gets done. I think Narwen will be especially pleased.
God bless,
Jay

Posted by: LOTR at December 8, 2004 04:16 PMToo bad the Hobbit doesnt have any friendly elves like Legolas. Maybe the guy who played Legolas will get to play Bard and bring down Smaug...
