Politics vs. Christianity
And New York City wins the award for most ignorant public policy . . .
Why? They have decided that Jewish menorahs and Islamic crescents can be displayed in NYC schools, but Christian nativity scenes cannot. The Christian scenes are not "historically accurate" according to the attorney for NYC.
Sounds like a case NYC is going to have a hard time winning. If they lose, my bet is that all symbols come down - otherwise they would have to allow nativity scenes and we certainly can't allow that!
Separation of church and state is moving more and more to separation of Christians from Christianity. It's interesting that the ACLU isn't suing on behalf of Christians - they are notably absent from this case.

This is such an outrage. We should keep Andrea Skoros in our prayers, what courage she has to stand up against the state in this case. I hope that she has no lack of support in New York.
So, Jay, what about that Christian Political Party that you mentioned some time ago? (What do you say... Jay for President!) We Christians absolutely MUST ban together for the sake of our country.
This leads me to the importance of instilling catholic family values in our children at home from the moment they are with us. For those of you who choose to send your children off to school, make sure that their faith is formed strongly and firmly rooted in the home. The home is the most important tool of learning.
I am reading The Catholic Family Handbook by Lawrence G. Lovasik. It supplies so many useful and necessary ideas on parenting and marriage. I highly recommend it to every married couple (even if you aren't Catholic it still offers a lot of spiritual guidance for raising a family).
