Prayers for a Soul

My grandfather passed away this morning. He was a good man and I hope he had made his peace with God. Please say a prayer or two for his soul and for our family. As Maria noted earlier we should be happy that he’s moved on to a better place, but it’s the sadness that gets stuck in your throat.

Jay,

Your grandfather will remain in our prayers. I knew him for years as well and I can say this that he was a joyful man. I remember how at every birthday party he would conclude the song "Happy Birthday to You" with "good evening friend" in his deep bass voice. It is one of many fond memories I have of him. May God grant him eternal rest.

Our prayers are also with you and your family, your mother and her family. I know that this must be hard for them.

I truly believe that for all those who knew him, he made this world a happier place.

God bless him and keep him. May our Blessed Mother Mary surround him with her mantle and lead him to her Son.

Jay,

I did not have the pleasure of knowing your grandfather in this life, though I pray may make his acquaintaince in the next.

The Appleby family is off to the Eucharistic Chapel in Winchester, VA, where the repose of his soul and the consolation of his family will be in our prayers.

Our Lady of Sorrows shares and knows you sorrow, dear brother in Christ.
